Frequently asked questions
What people ask us most
If your question is not here, ring us and we will answer it on the phone with no obligation.
No. The name confuses a lot of people, but TL Motorsport is a general electro-mechanical workshop for road cars. We do not build competition vehicles and we do not remap control units for extra power. If that is what you are after, there are specialists in the province and we can point you towards them.
Yes, we are multi-make. We work on cars of every marque, petrol and diesel alike. If your car needs a very specific manufacturer tool we will tell you before taking the job on, so you do not waste your time.
It is advisable, particularly for servicing and timing belts, because it lets us reserve the ramp and the time needed. For an urgent fault just ring and we will see how to fit you in the same day.
If we find the fault and you go ahead with the repair here, the diagnostic work is included in the job. If we check the car and find nothing that needs repairing, we do not charge for the inspection. It is a house rule and it shows up in several reviews.
Always. We find the fault, ring you, explain what it needs and what it costs, and wait for your authorisation. Nothing is touched without your agreement, and if something else appears along the way we ring again before continuing.
We carry out a pre-ITV check, which means going through every point the station examines and correcting anything likely to cause a fail. That saves the return trip over a bulb or a worn joint. Ask us if you would also like us to arrange the appointment.
It depends on the job and on parts availability. A service is usually done the same day. A timing belt or a complex electrical fault can take longer. When we ring you with the quote we will give you the timescale as well.
Yes. We can help you in Spanish, English, Dutch and German. That comes up regularly with residents on the coast and with drivers who break down on the route between Alicante and Valencia.
We give priority to breakdowns for people passing through, because you cannot wait three days for an appointment. Ring us, tell us what happened and we will say whether you can drive in or need a tow. There is a page on this site dedicated to exactly that.
Yes. Repairs and the parts we fit are covered in line with the Spanish regulations that apply to vehicle repair workshops. The invoice sets out the work carried out and the parts replaced.
We choose parts on technical grounds, not because of a contract with a chain. Depending on the case we fit original or first-quality equivalent parts, and we always tell you which before ordering. On critical parts such as the timing kit we do not recommend cutting corners.
You can pay in cash or by credit and debit card, including contactless mobile payment.
Ask when you book and we will tell you what we can offer, depending on the type of repair and how long it is expected to take.
Yes, and it is a distinct part of the workshop from the daily work. The timescales and the approach have nothing in common with a routine service, so the best step is to bring the vehicle over and look at it together before talking about time and cost.
Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 15:00 and Friday from 08:00 to 14:00. Closed at weekends. The hours can shift between summer and winter, so if you are travelling in, ring first to confirm.
